When Droga5 tapped BluEdge to help execute a high-profile animated Out-of-Home (OOH) campaign for Chase Sapphire, the goal was clear—create eye-catching motion content that would command attention in two of the country’s busiest markets: New York City and Los Angeles.

The result: a sweeping series of 50+ full-motion digital units across key metropolitan touchpoints—from Hudson Yards and Penn Station to Grand Central Station, LaGuardia, and JFK Airports—each capturing the energy of travel, dining, and aspirational experiences tied to the Sapphire lifestyle.

A High-Visibility Canvas

The large-scale digital campaign featured 50+ full-motion “spectacular” displays, appearing in high-traffic destinations such as Hudson Yards, Penn Station, Grand Central Terminal, and LaGuardia and JFK Airports.

Each 10 to 15-second animated placement highlighted key moments of travel, dining, and leisure — visually connecting Chase Sapphire cardholders to the experiences they value most. Collectively, the campaign reached more than one million daily viewers across New York City alone, from commuters to international travelers.

The Goal: Inspire the Next Generation of Cardmembers

The Chase Sapphire Halo 2.0 campaign was designed to drive new sign-ups for the Sapphire credit card and reinforce brand affinity among a younger, experience-seeking audience. The creative spotlighted the benefits of Sapphire’s travel and dining rewards while positioning the brand as a trusted companion for memorable moments.

“The focus was on attracting a younger customer base — one that values experiences over things,” explained Cynthia Perez, Producer at Droga5. “Every creative decision, every visual, was built around that aspiration.”So collectively, the Chase Sapphire campaign had potential exposure to over 1 million daily viewers across NYC alone — not including the LA placements.

Collaborating for Consistency

BluEdge worked closely with Droga5’s design, production, and account teams to produce, refine, and deliver more than four dozen animated variations tailored to unique screen specs and formats.

“This campaign touched nearly every major digital display in the city,” said Jackie Marco, BluEdge Project Manager. “With so many different placements, coordination was key — ensuring every unit not only met the technical specs but also the creative standards Chase is known for.”

Seamless Coordination Across Teams

With creative direction from Droga5 and oversight from Chase’s internal brand team, BluEdge served as the digital production partner, handling:

  • Full-motion digital spectaculars in the Penn District featuring 15-second animated travel and dining vignettes

  • Totems and wall screens at Penn Station and Grand Central, strategically positioned for commuter visibility

  • Airport digital displays at LGA and JFK, expanding reach to travelers

BluEdge leveraged Frame.io for collaborative video review, allowing granular time-coded markups on “fractions of a second,” as Project Manager Jackie Marco put it.

“The ability to annotate every nanosecond was critical,” Marco explained. “With so many moving parts, tools like Frame.io helped our teams stay aligned and maintain version control in real time.”

The project demanded adaptability: BluEdge received After Effects files mid-stream, re-animated assets that weren’t optimized for production, and navigated rapid rounds of approvals from both Droga5 and Chase’s internal creative team—all without compromising quality or consistency. With constant creative revisions, tight deadlines, and dozens of digital display specifications to meet, time became the biggest hurdle.

“Timing was never on our side,” recalls Cynthia Perez, Producer at Droga5. “We were fielding daily legal and APR updates while working with multiple file formats and media vendors. BluEdge stepped in with precision and professionalism—vetting specs, troubleshooting file issues, and helping us keep pace under extreme time pressure.”

The end result is a vibrant, unified campaign that showcases Chase Sapphire’s luxury positioning through stunning visual storytelling — transforming everyday cityscapes into immersive digital experiences.

“When Chase approved the first round of work, we couldn’t believe it,” Perez laughed. “They never approve anything on the first round—that’s how strong the creative and execution were.”
