BluEdge had the pleasure of collaborating with La Peer Hotel, a historic luxury hotel located in West Hollywood, on a captivating digital signage installation. The goal of the project was to create a wall of three synchronized screens displaying an immersive art exhibit of David Van Eyssen's, "Transformations". The installation would remain at La Peer Hotel throughout the year, providing guests with a unique, immersive, visual experience.
Our media team at BluEdge, in partnership with viewneo, took charge of bringing this visionary to a tangible, immersive reality. The team utilized viewneo's cloud-based content management system (CMS) to store and manage all digital and video aspects of the installation. Four viewneo 4k signage boxes and Screen Sync technology were employed to ensure seamless synchronization across all screens.
From content upload to the final display, the installation took only a few days. The talented team of individuals behind this project include: Liam Doerr and Olha Siuta from the viewneo team, while David Van Eyssen and Ken Cordova were responsible for visuals and setup, and Evan Thomas, General Manager from La Peer Hotel.
One unique aspect of this project was the requirement for synchronized streaming and display across all screens, with extreme accuracy. The process to facilitate content on all screens to move in unison is more complex than one would initially imagine, as it requires building a system of "if/then" scenarios and triggers. The Screen Sync technology helped aid this process and ensured a seamless chain reaction of simultaneous streaming. By building this system, the team was able to work through the challenge of accurately coordinating commands among the signage boxes, enabling perfect synchronization.
La Peer Hotel expressed their satisfaction with BluEdge's support throughout the project. Despite the time zone difference between Hollywood and viewneo's North American base in NYC, the teams collaborated seamlessly to meet project deadlines. BluEdge's commitment to providing exceptional support has extended beyond the installation phase- we ensured that La Peer Hotel received ongoing assistance post-install as needed.
David Van Eyssen, the artist behind "Transformations," shared his thoughts:
"As an extension of my interest in time and memory, I began to think about the data portrait we create by interacting electronically with ourselves and others... the neural connections we create, and the images we imprint in the systems that surround us."
Client's Reaction to the Final Installation:
La Peer Hotel was delighted with the final result. "The LG OLED displays, with their superior clarity, color tone, and black density, perfectly showcased the intricate details of the artwork. The form factor and design of the displays added a sculptural quality to the installation, enhancing the overall experience for viewers." - David Van Eyssen.
BluEdge is proud to have collaborated with La Peer Hotel on the "Transformations" project. As a trusted partner in delivering cutting-edge visual solutions, BluEdge continues to support clients with their long-term needs, ensuring exceptional experiences for both artists and viewers alike.
