Client Spotlight: Going Retro with Samsung

What Was The Goal?
 
Samsung's goal was to demonstrate the productivity feature set of their newest device, and convey how the Samsung Galaxy Fold will change the way business is conducted. BluEdge's goal was to help Samsung merge static imagery to create an interesting , visual representation of their message.
 

How Did BluEdge Media Approach This Project?

The final images created for Samsung were actually comprised of various still shots, that when merged together, created two separate scenarios. These final graphics were then optimized for web as well as OOH advertising, creating a multimedia campaign.
 

Retro:

This scene features an office worker in an 80s-style environment. Separate images were provided to the BluEdge team who then seamlessly merged them together. To achieve this, our artists extended existing backgrounds, matched patterns and masterfully adjusted and added in lighting directions and transitions.

Modern:

The direction for this scene included:

  • Seamlessly extend set left and right with the plates provided
  • Center the hanging light over the table
  • Extend the wall out at top of frame
  • Straighten vertical wall lines so straight up and down (eliminate wide angle distortion)

 

What Was The Outcome?

The Samsung team was extremely satisfied and impressed with our teamwork and ability to realize the creative vision of the campaign. Our work on this project resulted in additional requests from Samsung for the BluEdge team to  highlight 3 additional feature sets of the device. Deliverables included:
  • Optimized files for static imaging on the web
  • Optimized files for static imaging on OOH
  • Optimized files for static imaging in print ads.
  • Product imaging that included an eight-frame gif image that demonstrated how the device opens and closes.

Takeaways From The BluEdge Media Team

Our already talented group was able to impress our client not only with our talented team, but more so by being accessible, and instantaneously responsive. This opened the door for us to work on more interesting projects with Samsung. Repeat work is the greatest compliment we can receive.
