For nearly four years, BluEdge's Media team has partnered with Heaven Hill Distillery to deliver high-quality digital content. This creative partnership allows Heaven Hill to bring products to market faster by leveraging digital renders in place of traditional photography—especially for products still in development.
In this recent project, BluEdge Media was tasked with creating a photorealistic CGI render of the Old Fitzgerald bottle. The asset would serve as the “hero image” across Heaven Hill’s website, point-of-sale materials, and retail partner listings.
The goal was to produce a digital rendering that faithfully represented the design and craftsmanship of the Old Fitzgerald packaging—highlighting everything from its embossed label details to the uniquely faceted wooden cap. The image would also need to match the visual tone and quality of other product renders previously created by BluEdge Media, ensuring brand consistency across Heaven Hill’s portfolio.
The team approached the project with a blend of technical precision and creative direction, using a Marmoset viewer to collaborate with the client on bottle angle and label placement. As the render would serve multiple use cases—from e-commerce to sales kits—it was designed for versatility and high visual impact.
The Old Fitzgerald label features intricate foil stamping, embossing, and debossing. Accurately conveying these textures in a digital format required careful lighting, material mapping, and post-production refinement to strike a balance between realism and visual clarity.
One of the most distinctive elements of the bottle is its faceted wooden cap. The client provided a physical sample, which the BluEdge team studied in detail to replicate the shifting grain direction across each facet. This small yet essential detail required several iterations to get just right.
The completed asset now lives on Heaven Hill’s website and is used across digital retail platforms and internal sales materials. A layered version with adjustable transparency was provided, allowing Heaven Hill’s in-house team to seamlessly integrate the bottle asset into marketing visuals and background environments.
This project exemplifies the long-term creative collaboration between BluEdge Media and Heaven Hill. With new products and special edition releases in development, the partnership continues to grow, anchored by a shared commitment to visual storytelling and digital innovation.
